NATIONAL POLICE WEEK
THE WEEK OF MAY 15
May 15 was designated National Peace Officers' Memorial Day in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy. The week containing May 15 was designated as National Police Week. Flags should be flown at half staff to honor those law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice...THEIR LIVES FOR OUR SAFETY.

"FLY THE BLUE"
TO SUPPORT LAW ENFORCEMENT
During National Police Week, COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors) is asking citizens, law enforcement families, police survivors, and law enforcement agencies to fly a COPS blue ribbon from their car antennas to show their support for law enforcement.
If your law enforcement agency is not on COPS' data base to receive blue ribbons, have the agency FAX (573-346-1414) or email (cops@nationalcops.org) the national office with their order. *Please note, these ribbons are purchased with grant funds and are not for resale or fundraising purposes.
